What Are YOU Doing in the Zoo?

Updated: Oct 22, 2022

A mother and her baby camel were walking, when suddenly the baby asked, “Mother, may I ask you a question? The mother said, “Son, what is bothering you?" The baby replied quickly, “Why do camels have humps?” The mother laughed and answered, “Son, we are desert animals, we need the humps to store water. We're known to survive without water.”

The baby thought for a moment and then asked, “Okay, then why are our legs long and our feet rounded?” The mother sighed and said, “Son, obviously they are meant for walking in the desert. You know with these legs I can move around the desert better than anyone does!”

The baby quickly replied, “Okay, then why are our eyelashes long? Sometimes it bothers my sight”. With pride, the mother said, “Son, those long thick eyelashes are your protective cover. They help to protect your eyes from the desert sand and wind”.

After considering her response, the baby said, “I see. So the hump is to store water when we are in the desert, the legs are for walking through the desert and these eyelashes protect my eyes from the desert.

Then what are we doing here in the Zoo!?”
